Why I chose the title "Almost Didn't Happen"

The title of my book, Almost Didn’t Happen, isn’t just a phrase — it’s the heartbeat of the whole story. It’s about those fragile, in-between moments in life where everything could have gone differently. It’s about the times when you almost didn’t meet someone, almost didn’t get close, almost didn’t take that step that ended up changing everything.

When I think about the people who have shaped me, it’s crazy to realize how many of those connections almost didn’t happen. A friend I now can’t imagine life without started as someone I barely noticed at first. A conversation that became important almost never happened because I was too tired, too distracted, or too scared to speak up. Even chance encounters — strangers who came and went — left me with memories and lessons I still carry.

Almost Didn’t Happen is about all of that. About how easily we could have missed each other. About how thin the line is between being strangers and becoming important to one another. It’s about the randomness of life — how a small decision, like choosing to show up, reply, or take a risk, can completely change our paths.

This isn’t just about romantic relationships, though those matter too. It’s about friendships that started with “Hi” when they could have ended in silence. It’s about family members we finally opened up to, when we almost stayed closed off. It’s about those quick moments — meeting someone at the wrong place at the right time — that seem small but ripple out in ways we don’t expect. It's about the terrifying thought of almost something not happening.

Sometimes the connections we almost didn’t make turn out to be the ones that shape us the most. And sometimes the closeness we almost avoided ends up teaching us lessons we never saw coming — about love, loss, trust, betrayal, forgiveness, and growth.

That’s why this book carries that title. Because the truth is, none of these stories were guaranteed. They weren’t planned. They weren’t perfect. They almost didn’t happen. But they did. And thats what makes this mine.
